2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 teaspoons Clabber Girl Baking Powder
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
2 teaspoons sugar
1/2 cup shortening
2/3 cup milk
Sift dry ingredients together. Cut in shortening. Add milk and stir until dough follows fork around bowl. Roll 1/2-inch thick; cut with biscuit cutter. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake in hot oven – 400 degrees F. for 10-12 minutes.
Makes about 16 biscuits
