Southern Sausage Ball Appetizers

Ingredients

  • 1 lb hot bulk sausage
  • 2 cups (8 oz) shredded sharp Cheddar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 Tbsp finely chopped onion
  • 2 Tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 tsp dried poultry seasoning
  • 1-1/2 tsp baking powder
  1. Preheat oven to 400°
  2. In medium bowl, combine all ingredients with your hands and mix thoroughly but lightly, avoiding mashing the meat together too much
  3. Pick off pieces of meat mixture the size of a walnut, about 1 level tablespoon, and shape into balls
  4. Place on an ungreased baking sheet, preferably with sides to catch any fat that may drizzle off the sheet
  5. Bake in 400° oven until the balls are cooked through, about 12 minutes
  6. Serve hot
