Sharrie’s Hamburger Stuffed Bread

1 lb. Hamburger

1 Onion – Diced (Optional) to your taste

1 Bell Pepper – Diced (Optional) to your taste

1/2 cup Diced Celery

1 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce

1 can Cheddar Cheese Soup

American Cheese Slices (About 3) to your taste

1 Loaf Unsliced French Bread


Preheat to 325. Brown beef and Worcestershire. Drain. Add onion or bell pepper or both if you want, celery and soup. Let simmer while you cut off top of bread. Scoop out bread in the middle to make a boat of the crust. Tear bread into small pieces and add to meat mixture. Put bread boat on cookie sheet. Fill the bread boat with the meat mixture. I like my celery sort of crispy, so I don’t simmer very long. I make triangles out of the American Cheese and lie on top of the meat mixture. Place in oven and until cheese slices melt. Take out of the oven and put the top of the bread on top. Slice and eat. Is very good with French Fries and a Salad. This is just a different way to eat a Cheeseburger. If you have big eaters in your house you might want to make more then 1. We had 5 in our house and it fed all of us and I even had a lunch for work the next day.
