Scotch Eggs-Italian Style

Ingredients

  • 3/4 lb. bulk Italian sausage, or cut casing off
  • 12 hard-cooked eggs, shells removed
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/3 cup fine dry Italian bread crumbs
  • oil for deep frying
  1. Wrap each egg in sausage
  2. Dip egg/sausage in beaten egg and roll in crumbs
  3. Cook in deep fat at 375° for 9 to 10 minutes
  4. Drain
  5. Serve hot or cold
