Pumpkin Gingerbread


1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup pumpkin
2 teaspoons soda
1 teaspoon cloves
1 teaspoon ginger
1/2 cup butter
2 1/2 cups flour
1 cup molasses
1 teaspoon cinnamon
3/4 cup water


Cream sugar and butter. Add 2 cups of flour alternately with pumpkin and molasses. Mix spices with remaining flour and alternately with water, starting with flour and ending with flour. Bake in 350 degree oven in large 11x14x3″ well greased pan for 35 minutes. Sever hot with whipped cream.
