Puffy Egg And Cheese Pie

  • 1 9″ unbaked pastry shell
  • 8 slices bacon, fried and crumbled
  • 1 medium tomato, sliced
  • 3/4-1 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese
  • 3 eggs separated and at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt



  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Sprinkle bacon over the bottom of the pie crust
  2. Layer tomato slices and then half of the cheese. In a large bowl combine egg yolks, sour cream, salt and flour. Set aside
  3. Beat egg whites until stiff and gently fold into sour cream mixture until a few lumps of whites remain
  4. Spread over cheese layer. Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the top of the pie
  5. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
