1 C. butter
1/2 C. milk
2 pkg. dry yeast
1/4 C. lukewarm water
2 1/2 C. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. sugar
3 egg yolks
Melt and cool 1-cup butter and 1/2 cup milk. Mix 2 pkg. yeast in 1/4 cup lukewarm water. Sift flour, salt, and sugar. Stir egg yolks into milk mixture. Add this mixture into flour mixture. Add yeast mixture, and beat well then Refrigerate overnight. Dough will be very sticky.

Preparation Instructions:

1/2 C. ground nuts
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 C. chopped dates
3 Tbsp. sugar
1/4 C. milk
3 egg whites slightly beaten
Over heat mix dates, sugar (3 Tbsp.), nuts, milk, and cinnamon. Cool. Beat egg whites until stiff gradually adding 1-cup sugar. Fold in nut pasta. Roll 1/2 dough into a 20-inch square on a floured board. Spread 1/2 filling over dough and roll like a jellyroll. Put roll into a greased angel food cake pan. Roll other half and proceed in the same method as above. Place over the other roll in the pan. The two layers will become one in the baking. Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees. Sprinkle white powdered sugar or glaze with confectioners frosting.
