Pork And Bean Salad


2-1/2 c. sauerkraut

2/3 c. water

1/2 tsp. celery seed

1 tsp. sugar

2 tbsp. bacon drippings

2 c. pork and beans

2 tsp. finely chopped parsley


Combine sauerkraut, water, celery seed, sugar and drippings in pottery skillet. Simmer over low heat for 10 minutes. Add beans; mix into sauerkraut. Continue to cook over low heat until beans are heated. Sprinkle parsley over salad just before serving. Crumbled, crisp bacon may be used as garnish, if desire.
