- 1 1/2 cups lentils, rinsed well
- 6 1/4 cups nonfat chicken broth
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 3/4 cup orzo
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- Combine lentils, 6 cups broth, cumin and black pepper in a large pot. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 25 minutes.
- Stir in orzo and continue to simmer until orzo and lentils are tender, about 20 minutes more.
- Stir in onion and serve immediately.
