My Chocolate Pie

Ingredients

  • Baked 9″ pie crust
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 cups milk
  • 6 tbls. cocoa
  • 2 tbls. oil
  • 3 egg yolks, beaten
  • 1 tbls. butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  1. Mix all dry ingredients.
  2. Gradually stir in milk, cocoa and oil.
  3. Cook over med-high heat until it bubbles, stirring constantly, be patient. Cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat, then take about a cup or less of hot mixture and stir into the beaten eggs, mix well. Pour eggs back into the pan and cook 2 more minutes. Remove from heat. Add butter and vanilla. Mix well until butter is melted. Pour into a baked 9″ pie crust.
  5. You can then put meringue on top and bake for 15 minutes, if desired
  6. Allow pie to cool. Store any unused portion in the fridge.
