My Chocolate Pie
Ingredients
- Baked 9″ pie crust
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 cups milk
- 6 tbls. cocoa
- 2 tbls. oil
- 3 egg yolks, beaten
- 1 tbls. butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- Mix all dry ingredients.
- Gradually stir in milk, cocoa and oil.
- Cook over med-high heat until it bubbles, stirring constantly, be patient. Cook for 2 minutes.
- Remove from heat, then take about a cup or less of hot mixture and stir into the beaten eggs, mix well. Pour eggs back into the pan and cook 2 more minutes. Remove from heat. Add butter and vanilla. Mix well until butter is melted. Pour into a baked 9″ pie crust.
- You can then put meringue on top and bake for 15 minutes, if desired
- Allow pie to cool. Store any unused portion in the fridge.
