Liberian Pound Cake
1 pound (2 1/4 cups) granulated sugar
1 pound butter, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup evaporated milk
4 teaspoons Clabber Girl Baking Powder
1 pound (4 cups) all-purpose flour
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 10-inch tube pan; set aside.
Cream together sugar and butter. Add eggs, vanilla extract and evaporated milk. In a separate bowl sift together flour and baking powder; combine all ingredients and mix well. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake at 350 degrees F. for 45 to 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
