1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup corn meal
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons Clabber Girl Baking Powder
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 Tablespoon chopped fresh sage
1/2 teaspoon crushed rosemary
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 cup olive oil
1/2 cup beer
1 1/2 cups milk
2 large eggs
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Grease loaf pan and dust with corn meal; set aside. In a large bowl mix together flour, corn meal, salt, baking soda, baking powder, herbs and cheese. In a separate bowl combine olive oil, milk, beer and eggs. Add to dry ingredients and stir with wooden spoon just until moistened.

Pour into prepared loaf pan and decorate top by sprinkling with additional herbs. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 55-60 minutes, or until tests done. While bread is still warm from the oven, brush top with olive oil and dust with cayenne pepper and salt.
