Hamburger Florentine Soup

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 5 cups water
  • 2 cups cubed potatoes
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • 1 cup chopped onions
  • 1 cup sliced celery
  • 1/3 cup uncooked barley
  • 1-1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil leaves
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme leaves
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes, undrained, cut up
  • 1 (14.5 oz.) can Green Giant Kitchen Sliced Green Beans, undrained
  • 1 (9 oz.) package Green Giant Harvest Fresh Frozen Chopped Spinach
  1. Brown ground beef in 5-quart saucepan or Dutch oven, drain. Stir in all remaining ingredients except spinach, cover and simmer 30 minutes. Add frozen spinach, cover and simmer an additional 25 minutes
  2. Stir to blend spinach into soup
  3. Remove bay leaf
