Ham and Potato Casserole

1 pound Yukon Gold potatoes, thinly sliced
salt and pepper to taste
1 medium onion, diced
4 cups diced ham
2 teaspoons dried thyme
1 teaspoon dried minced garlic
2 cups milk
1 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, etc)
Preheat oven to 350 F and grease a 13×9 baking pan. Layer potatoes in the pan and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Sprinkle onion all over potatoes then cover with ham. Sprinkle with thyme and garlic and pour milk over everything. Cover tightly with foil and bake for one hour.
Remove from oven and sprinkle with cheese. Return to oven and bake ten minutes more.
