Great Pot Roast

Ingredients

  • 1 5 to 6 lb rump or chuck roast
  • 2 envelopes onion soup mix
  • 3 to 4 cups water
  • 1 16-oz container of sour cream
  • corn starch to thicken gravy
  1. Brown the roast well on all sides with vegetable oil
  2. Place roast in ovenproof Dutch oven
  3. Pour water and soups over roast
  4. Cover and bake at 350 for about 3 hours or until tender
  5. Remove roast from the oven, add sour cream
  6. Add enough corn starch to thicken gravy. Slice.
