Graham Cracker Cake

1/2 cup margarine
1 cup sugar
2 eggs, separated
24 crushed graham crackers
2 tsp Clabber Girl Baking Powder
1 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup chopped nuts
whipped cream for topping (optional)

1 8 oz. can crushed pineapple
1 cup sugar
1 Tbsp Clabber Girl Cornstarch
1 tsp water

For cake: Cream sugar and margarine. Mix in egg yolks, beating well. In a separate bowl, combine crushed graham crackers and baking powder. Combine this mixture with creamed mixture; beat in milk and vanilla. Stir in nuts.
Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form; fold into batter. Spread batter into a greased 8-inch square baking pan.

SAUCE: In a saucepan combine crushed pineapple and sugar. Bring to a boil, and boil for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Mix cornstarch with water; stir into pineapple mixture and cook 3 minutes more. Pour over warm cake; garnish with whipped cream.

Bake cake at 300 degrees F. for 45 minutes.
