Goulash Soup

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. cubed beef.
  • 1 lb. potatoes
  • 1/3 lb smoked lean bacon
  • 2/3 lb. onions
  • 2/3 lbs. tomatoes
  • 3 Tbs. flour
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • salt, caraway seed, marjoram (1 tsp each)
  • 1 toe garlic
  • some lemon peel
  • 1 cup broth
  1. Cut bacon and onions and sauté until soft and glazy, add paprika and caraway, minced garlic, marjoram, lemon peel and 1 cup of broth (bouillon) and the small cut up tomatoes and meat pieces. Add salt and simmer 40 minutes in covered pot. Add small cut up potatoes to soup .
  2. When potatoes are done add flour which has been mixed with one Tbs of water to soup
  3. Cook 10 minutes longer.
  4. If desired , add some wienners, (2) per person.
