Gail’s Famous Sour Cream Coffee Cake
3/4 cup butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
1 1/2 teaspoons Clabber Girl Baking Powder
3/4 pint sour cream
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
3/4 cup nuts, chopped
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 cup sugar
In a large mixing bowl, cream butter, sugar and eggs; set aside. In a separate bowl, sift flour together with Clabber Girl Baking Powder and baking soda. Combine flour mixture with creamed mixture and add sour cream and vanilla; set aside. Mix filling ingredients.
Mix nuts, cinnamon and sugar.
Pour 1/2 of batter into greased and floured 10-inch tube or bundt pan. Place 2/3 of filling mixture on top. Pour remaining batter into pan and top with remaining filling. Bake at 350 degrees F for 1 hour. Let cool for 1 hour.
Makes 10 to 12 servings.
