Frosted Apple-Raisin Pie

Ingredients

  • Pastry for 2-crust pie
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp. flour
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 6 cups sliced, peeled tart apples
  • 1/2 cup seedless raisins
  • 2 tbsp. orange juice
  • 4 tbsp. butter or margarine
  • Orange Frosting
  1. Combine sugar, flour, salt and cinnamon; mix with apples and raisins; place in pastry-lined 9″ pie pan. Sprinkle with orange juice; dot with butter.
  2. Adjust top crust and flute the edges; cut vents. Bake in hot oven (400F degrees) about 40 minutes, or until crust is browned and apples are tender. Spread orange frosting over hot pie.

ORANGE FROSTING

  1. Mix together 1 cup confectioners sugar, 3 tbsp. strained fresh orange juice and 1 tsp. graded orange peel
