Fresh Mushroom Soup

Ingredients

  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • 2 Tbsp chopped green onion
  • 1/2 lb mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 Tbsp butter or margarine
  • 4 Tbsp flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 Tbsp oregano
  • 2 cups reconstituted powdered milk
  • pinch baking soda
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream, optional
  1. Saute garlic, onions, and mushrooms in butter/margarine until soft. Add flour, salt and oregano, cooking and stirring for a minute or two. Add milk and soda, stirring until thickened
  2. Serve hot, stirring in cream, if used, at last minute
