French Onion, Cheese & Bacon Quiche

Ingredients

  • 1 frozen pastry-style pie crust, or your favorite pie crust recipe
  • 6 slices bacon, cut in 1″ pieces
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss or Gruyere cheese
  • Salt & freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Add grating of fresh nutmeg
  1. Preheat oven 375
  2. Line quiche or pie pan with pastry
  3. Cook bacon until crisp
  4. Drain & place in bottom of uncooked pie shell
  5. Sauté onion in bacon fat until lightly browned. Drain & add to pie shell
  6. In small bowl combine remaining ingredients. Stir to combine thoroughly
  7. Pour in pastry shell, bake 25-30 minutes or tests done
