Fabulous Fried Onion Rings
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups beer (active or flat, hot or cold)
3 very large onions
3 to 4 cups oil
Instructions
Combine flour and beer in large bowl; blend thoroughly using a whisk. Cover bowl and allow batter to set at room temperature for no less than 3 hours.
Cut onion into 1/2-inch thick slices; separate. Use a 10-inch skillet. Heat oil to 375 degrees F. Dip onion rings in batter and drop into hot oil. Lay on brown paper on cookie sheet when brown. Place in 200 degree F. oven to keep warm.
To Freeze: Lay on cookie sheet until frozen, then sack.
To Reheat: Arrange on cookie sheet and place in a preheated 400 degree F. oven for 4 to 6 minutes.
