Easy Pot Roast

2 tablespoons vegetable oil
3 1/2- to 4-pound boneless beef bottom round or chuck pot roast
2 cans (10 1/4 ounces each) Franco-American® brown gravy with onions
2 tablespoons barbecue sauce (optional)
8 medium carrots (about 1 1/4 pounds), cut into 2-inch pieces
1. In Dutch oven over medium-high heat, heat oil. Add roast and cook until browned. Pour off fat.
2. Add gravy and barbecue sauce. Heat to a boil. Reduce heat to low. Cover and cook 1 1/2 hours, turning roast occasionally.
3. Add carrots. Cover and cook 1 hour more or until roast is fork-tender, stirring occasionally. Serves 8.
