Creamy Banana Pie

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 envelope unflavored gelatin
  • 3 cups milk
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 4 medium bananas
  • 1/2 cup apple jelly
  1. Bake any pie crust
  2. In 2-Quart saucepan combine sugar, cornstarch, salt and gelatin with wire whisk. Beat in milk and egg yolks. Cook mixture over low heat, stirring constantly until thickened (about 15 minutes)
  3. Stir in butter and vanilla. Cover mixture with plastic wrap and chill.
  4. Whip cream, slice 3 bananas. Fold cream and bananas into custard. Spoon into piecrust, chill until set.
