Creamed Onions

Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 3/4 c. milk
  • 2 Tbsp. sherry
  • 2 doz. white boiling onions — cooked and drained
  • 1/2 tsp. thyme
  1. Melt butter, blend in flour and salt.
  2. Add milk gradually, stirring constantly, until thickened. Add sherry; blend.
  3. Add onions, heat thoroughly.
  4. Add thyme.
