Cranberry Apple Zinger® Turkey Stuffing
It’s true. America does love stuffing, and we’d eat it three times a week. But if you knew what went into many of those ordinary, just-add-water stuffings on your supermarket shelf, you’d go back to potatoes. This Cranberry Apple Zinger stuffing is just as easy as any instant. But instead of salt and artificial flavors, you’re seasoning not only with cranberries, but with cinnamon, chamomile, chicory, citrus‹and that’s just the Cs!
1-1/2 cups water
3 Cranberry Apple Zinger tea bags
4 cups dried seasoned bread stuffing (I use Pepperidge Farm)
1 (16-ounce) can whole cranberry sauce
1 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 medium yellow onion, diced
Boil the water and steep the tea bags for 5 minutes. Remove and discard the bags. Combine the tea, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and salt in a large bowl. Melt the butter in a frying pan. Sauté the onions until clear. Add the onions to the stuffing and mix well. Stuff the turkey and bake according to size. This amount works for a 7- to 10-pound turkey.
