Cowboy Stew

January 9, 2021  Online Recipe Guide Avatar

2 lb. chuck steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
1/3 cup soy sauce
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. worcestershire sauce
2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
6 carrots, sliced
4 medium potatoes, cubed
3 medium onions (chunked)

Marinate steak in soy sauce, garlic powder, worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper for 1 hour or overnight. Stir occasionally. Place meat and seasonings in pan. Add water to cover and simmer for 1 hour or until meat is tender. Add carrots, potatoes and onions. Cook until srisp-tender, about 20 minutes. Mix 1/4 cup flour and 3/4 cup water; smoth and stir in broth. Cook until thickens. Have enough water to cover vegetables and meat mixture to cook. You have very good brown gravy.

Serves 6 to 8.

“I always make cornbread and cabbage slaw to serve with this stew. It makes a delicious hearty meal”.
