Classic Banana Bread

INGREDIENTS:

 

  • 1/2 cup soft butter or margarine
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups mashed ripe bananas
  • 1 tsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups unsifted all purpose flour or regular sifted flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts

STEP BY STEP:

 

  1. Cream butter and sugar together in large bowl until light and fluffy
  2. Beat in eggs. Mix mashed bananas, milk and vanilla
  3. Mix flour, salt, and baking soda and blend in alternating with banana mixture
  4. Stir in nuts. Turn into greased 9x5x3-inch loaf pan
  5. Bake in 350� oven for 1 hour and 10 minutes
  6. Cool 10 minutes in pan. Turn out of pan and cool completely.

TIPS:

You can change the butter or margarine with olive oil with equal amount, and to eliminate extra fat and cholesterol use 3-4 egg whites, and fat free milk
