Chocolate Chiffon Pie

Ingredients

  • 3 tsp. gelatin
  • 1/4 c. cold water
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 sq. bitter chocolate
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. cream, whipped
  • 1 1/2 c. milk, hot
  1. Make a syrup of cocoa, sugar, milk and salt. Bring to boil and boil 15 or 20 minutes.
  2. Soak gelatin in cold water about 5 minutes. Add gelatin to syrup mixture and stir until dissolved. Allow to cool and add vanilla.
  3. When thick add whipped cream and stir well. Pour into baked pie shell and chill.
  4. For extras, when ready to serve, garnish with extra whipped cream sweetened to taste and grated chocolate.
