Chocolate Angel Strata Pie

Ingredients

  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/2 tsp. vinegar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs yolks
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1-6 oz pkg. semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  1. Beat first four ingredients until soft mounds form. Add 1/2 cup sugar, gradually, beating until meringue stands stiff. Spread on bottom and sides of a baked 9-inch pie shell. Bake at 325 for 20 minutes until browned, cool.
  2. Slightly beat eggs yolks, add water. Melt chocolate chips, add to egg yolks and water mixture. Spread 3 Tbsp. over cooled meringue, chill remainder
  3. Combine remaining sugar, cinnamon and 1/2 cup whipping cream, beat until thick. Spread half over chocolate in pie shell, combine remaining whipped cream with chocolate mixture.
  4. Spread over whipped cream in pie shell, chill overnight
