Cheddar Pear Pie

Ingredients

  • 4 large ripe pears, peeled and sliced thin
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1 unbaked pastry shell (9″)

Topping:

  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  1. Combine pears, sugar, cornstarch & salt in a bowl
  2. Pour into pastry shell
  3. Combine all topping ingredients until crumbly; sprinkle over filling
  4. Bake at 425° for 25-35 minutes or until crust is golden and cheese melted
  5. Cool on wire rack for 10 minutes
