Cape Cod Apple Cranberry Pie

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 Tbsp flour
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp grated orange peel
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 1-1/2 cups cranberries
  • 3 cups sliced, peeled McIntosh apples
  • pastry for 2 crust 9-inch pie
  1. Combine first 7 ingredients
  2. Cook 2 minutes, stirring until sugar dissolves. Add cranberries, boil 2 minutes
  3. Fold in apple slices and cool
  4. Pour into pastry lined 9-inch pan
  5. Make lattice strips of pastry dough over filling. Trim edges
  6. Bake at 425° for 40-45 minutes
