Cabbage Patch Stew

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 medium onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 1/2 cup coursely chopped cabbage
  • 1/2 cup diced celery
  • 1 can stewed tomatoes
  • 1 teas garlic salt
  • 1 teas marjoram
  • 1/2 teas salt
  • 1/8 teas pepper
  • 1 can kidney beans–undrained
  • 2 cups mashed potatoes
  1. Cook and stir meat in dutch oven until done. Drain fat, add onions, cabbage and celery
  2. Cook & stir until vegetables are light brown. Stir in tomatoes & seasonings. Cover tightly; simmer 15 minutes. Stir in beans with liquid; heat until mixture boils
  3. Simmer uncovered 15 to 20 minutes
  4. Top stew with mashed potatoes
