Baked Fudge Pudding
1 cup all-purpose flour, sifted
1 cup sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
2 teaspoons Clabber Girl Baking Powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup nuts, chopped
1/2 cup milk
2 tablespoons margarine or butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1/4 cup cocoa
1 3/4 cups hot water
Grease a 9-inch square baking pan. Sift together IN THIS PAN the flour, sugar, 2 tablespoons cocoa, Clabber Girl Baking Powder and salt. Add nuts and toss together lightly; set aside.
In a separate bowl, blend together milk, melted margarine or butter, and vanilla. Add to flour mixture in baking pan and blend thoroughly into batter. Mix together brown sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa; spread on surface of batter. Pour hot water all over surface.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 45 minutes. Cut into squares and serve in dessert dishes with whipped cream or desired topping.
Makes 6 servings.
