Applesauce Cake with Raisins and Pecans

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 tsp. allspice
  • 2 1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups applesauce
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup pecans
  1. Cream butter and sugar till light. Add eggs, beating well after each addition.
  2. Sift dry ingredients together and add to creamed mixture alternately with applesauce. Stir in raisins and pecans.
  3. Turn batter into greased and lightly floured pan (13x9x2-inch). Bake at 350F about 45 minutes or till done. Cool in pan.
