Apple Raisin Pie

Ingredients

  • Pastry for 2 crust 9″pie
  • 6 c apples peeled & sliced
  • 3/4 c sugar
  • 2 T flour
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 c raisins
  • 2 T orange juice
  • 1/4 c butter
  • Orange Glaze
  1. Combine apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, salt & raisins; mix well
  2. Turn into pastry-lined pie pan. Sprinkle with orange juice; dot with butter.
  3. Place top crust over filling
  4. Cut vents. Flute edges
  5. Bake 400° 40 minutes or until apples are tender.

Orange Glaze

  1. Combine 1 c powdered sugar, 3 T orange juice, & 1 tsp grated orange peel; mix until smooth.
  2. Spread over hot pie.
