Apple Pie With Cheese Crust

Ingredients

Crust

  • 1-3/4 cup flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 cup grated Cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup ice water
  1. Sift flour & salt into bowl
  2. Cut in shortening & cheese
  3. Add water gradually
  4. Divide dough

Filling

  • 3 medium apples, pared & sliced
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup chunk or crushed pineapple
  • Butter
  1. Put pineapple and apples alternately into crust
  2. Mix cinnamon with sugar and pour over fruit
  3. Sprinkle with lemon juice
  4. Dot with butter
  5. Add top to crust
  6. Bake 375° for 50 minutes
