Apple Betty Pie
- 4 c sliced, pared, tart apples
- 1/4 c orange juice
- 1 c sugar
- 3/4 c flour
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- dash salt
- 1/2 c butter
- Mound apples in buttered 9″ pie plate; sprinkle with juice.
- For topping, combine sugar, flour, spices and salt; cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Then sprinkle over apples.
- Bake 375° 45 minutes or until apples are done & topping is crisp and lightly browned
- Serve warm with cream or vanilla ice cream
