Apple Betty Pie

Ingredients

  • 4 c sliced, pared, tart apples
  • 1/4 c orange juice
  • 1 c sugar
  • 3/4 c flour
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • dash salt
  • 1/2 c butter
  1. Mound apples in buttered 9″ pie plate; sprinkle with juice.
  2. For topping, combine sugar, flour, spices and salt; cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Then sprinkle over apples.
  3. Bake 375° 45 minutes or until apples are done & topping is crisp and lightly browned
  4. Serve warm with cream or vanilla ice cream
