Using 1/2 package of tinted fondant, at least one day in advance, make roses, blossoms and leaves: Make three full roses, two 5-petal roses and two 3-petal roses using medium-size cutters and directions in Gum Paste Flowers Kit; use Forget-Me-Not cutter in kit to make 50 blossoms. Use leaf cutter to make 12 leaves. Use the dogbone tool to smooth rose petals and the veining tool to score leaves. Make extras to allow for breakage and let dry on flower formers dusted with cornstarch.

Prepare and cover cake with remaining fondant (use excess fondant for ruffle border). Starting at center, imprint curlique pattern press every 2 in. on side of cake. Overpipe design with tip 2. Pipe tip 6 bead bottom border. Roll out reserved fondant and cut into sections 3/4 in. wide for ruffle border. Form ruffles with toothpick. Use decorator brush and a little water to attach strips to cake. Pipe tip 2 beads above ruffle. Attach roses, leaves and blossoms using buttercream icing and tip 2. Add tip 2 blossom centers and random dots. Position ornament on base.
